What is turnkey PCB assembly?
Turnkey means the factory sources all components and fabricates the bare board, so you hand over Gerbers and a BOM and receive finished assemblies. It's faster but you must verify they buy genuine parts rather than gray-market substitutes.
Why do BGAs need X-ray inspection?
BGA solder joints sit hidden under the package, so AOI can't see them — X-ray reveals voids, bridges, and missing balls. Specify X-ray on all BGA and bottom-terminated parts, with IPC-A-610 void limits stated in the PO.
Lead-free or leaded solder for my assembly?
SAC305 lead-free (RoHS-compliant) is required for most consumer markets; Sn63Pb37 leaded is still used in some high-reliability or legacy applications. The choice changes the reflow profile, so confirm the factory tunes it correctly per J-STD-020.
