UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) is Great Britain's post-Brexit replacement for CE, governed by the Radio Equipment Regulations 2017 and related EMC and safety regulations. For most electronics from China the test data behind CE transfers directly, so the work is producing a UK Declaration of Conformity, appointing a UK authorised representative, and applying the UKCA mark. It runs in parallel with CE, FCC, PSE, EAC, and SASO when you target multiple markets from one production run.
When you source for UKCA from China, the pitfall is treating it as a fresh certification: usually it is a paperwork and labelling exercise on top of existing CE files. We check that the technical file, importer details, and UK representative are all in place before shipment.

Do I need to re-test products for UKCA if I already have CE?
Usually not. The harmonised standards behind CE (EN 300 328, EN 301 489, EN 62368-1) are recognised for UKCA, so the existing test reports support the UK Declaration of Conformity in most cases.
How long does it take to add UKCA to a China-made product?
If valid CE test data exists, it is mostly a documentation step of a week or two. Without test data, expect the full RED/EMC/safety test cycle of several weeks.
Can UKCA, CE, and FCC be done in one production run?
Yes. They share much of the same EMC and radio testing, so labs run them in parallel. Plan the marking artwork and declarations together so one batch covers all target markets.
