Reliability is about whether a board survives its real operating environment — humidity, condensation, vibration, salt fog — not just whether it passes at the factory bench. For China-built PCBAs headed into outdoor, automotive, or industrial use, conformal coating (acrylic, urethane, silicone, or parylene) is the most common protective step, inspected against IPC-CC-830B for coverage and thickness.
