China builds compact tractors in the 18–55 HP range for export, in both diesel and increasingly electric drivetrains, with gear-drive or hydrostatic (HST) transmissions. For import into the EU you need CE plus engine emissions compliance; for the US the engine must meet EPA Tier 4 rules, which is where many low-cost units fall short. These are heavy, low-volume capital machines, so lead times of 60–90 days and freight by container are the norm.
When you source a tractor the real risk is the engine and emissions certification, not the chassis — a CE plate on the body means nothing if the diesel engine has no valid EPA or Stage V approval for your market. We verify the engine maker's certs separately and check parts availability before signing.
