LED High Bay Light (100W–200W)
Industrial LED high bay for warehouses, factories, and sports halls. IP65-rated, 150 lm/W efficacy, DLC Premium listed for US market rebates.
What to Check When Sourcing
High bay lights run continuously in harsh environments — temperature cycling, dust, vibration. The specs that matter most:
Heatsink surface area and fin spacing. A 200W LED running at 150 lm/W still generates significant heat. Measure the heatsink fin spacing — fins closer than 6mm trap dust and reduce airflow in still-air environments. Die-cast aluminum is better than stamped sheet for thermal mass.
IP65 gasket integrity. True IP65 requires a proper silicone gasket at every housing joint. Ask for photos of the disassembled unit. Factories sometimes claim IP65 based on a sealed lens but leave unsealed cable entry points.
DLC listing verification. For the US commercial market, DLC qualification unlocks utility rebates worth $15–50 per fixture. Verify the DLC QPL number directly on designlights.org — some factories use expired or mismatched listings.
Common Issues
Lumen depreciation misrepresentation — LM80 data shows LED chip depreciation under controlled lab conditions, not full-fixture degradation. Ask for the fixture-level L70 hours, not just the LED chip L70.
Surge protection rating — For outdoor-adjacent or industrial environments, request a surge protection rating of ≥10kV/10kA (IEC 61643-11). Budget fixtures often omit this entirely.
