A water leak sensor detects standing water via conductive probes and fires a local buzzer plus a push alert — and, in a well-designed system, triggers a smart valve to shut off the supply. For Gulf homes with concealed plumbing, the value is the alarm linkage (does it actually close a valve?) and a loud local buzzer that works even if the cloud is down. Detection and alarm linkage

The sensing element is a pair of conductive probes; water bridging them triggers the alarm. Two quality points:

• Local buzzer. A ≥70dB onboard buzzer that sounds without internet is the difference between catching a leak and discovering it after damage. Confirm the buzzer fires locally, not only via cloud notification.
• Valve shut-off linkage. The high-value feature is automatic supply shut-off. Verify the sensor can trigger a compatible smart valve/actuator locally through the gateway — not just send a notification.

The action item: confirm the leak event can drive a valve actuator with the internet disconnected. That local automation is what prevents water damage while no one is home.

Probe options and protocol

Onboard contact pads suit floor placement; an external 2m probe cable reaches under sinks and behind appliances. Zigbee 3.0 binds to a local hub; Tuya Wi-Fi uses the Tuya app with Arabic support (Tuya reference).
